Survival of the Fittest

Description

The Nelson-Atkins proudly presents its first-ever exhibition of wildlife art. Survival of the Fittest: Picturing Wildlife and Wilderness showcases paintings by the influential artists known as the Big Four: Richard Friese, Wilhelm Kuhnert, Bruno Liljefors, and Carl Rungius.

This landmark presentation takes us beyond city limits, above tree lines, across oceans โ€” and into breathtaking scenes of our natural world and the creatures that inhabit it. In addition to wildlife art, experience a rare look at an original copy of Charles Darwinโ€™s On the Origin of Species and learn about ways to conserve and protect our natural world.

Use the exhibition Field Guide to explore and complete its activities as you go. Commemorate your adventure by bringing your completed guide to the Museum Store for a limited-edition Nelson-Atkins patch.

Donโ€™t miss this opportunity to wander the wild frontiers of Survival of the Fittest.
